Pipe Leak in Reseda
On May 14, 2026, our team responded to a reported pipe leak in Reseda at a commercial property. Upon arrival, we conducted a thorough inspection of the plumbing infrastructure and identified the source of the issue within the utility space.
The problem centered on the backflow prevention system. A ZURN brand double check valve assembly (DCVA) was found to be the focal point of the leak. This component is critical in commercial plumbing applications, as it prevents contaminated water from flowing backward into the main supply line—a serious health and safety concern. The DCVA showed signs of failure that required immediate attention.
We removed the faulty ZURN double check valve assembly and performed a complete replacement with a new unit, ensuring proper installation and alignment with code requirements. All connections were sealed and pressure-tested to confirm the integrity of the repair. The new assembly was secured in place within the parking garage utility area, restoring proper backflow protection to the system.
Upon completion, we verified that all leaks had stopped and that water pressure throughout the commercial system remained stable. The customer was informed of the repair scope and the importance of the double check valve in maintaining safe water delivery. The system is now operating as designed, with full backflow protection restored. No further issues were noted at the time of departure.
