Boiler in Van Nuys

During a boiler service visit in Van Nuys on June 24, 2026, our technician inspected the system’s internal components and identified a brass ball valve with compression fittings that had reached the end of its serviceable life.

The valve showed heavy oxidation and patina buildup across its body and fitting surfaces, with copper oxidation displaying the characteristic green and blue discoloration typical of age-related corrosion. Despite the exterior degradation, inspection of the interior bore revealed it remained clear and unobstructed, indicating the valve had not yet developed internal blockage.

Given the extent of corrosion and the valve’s extended service history, removal and replacement was the appropriate course of action. The technician documented the component’s condition through multiple angles to establish a clear record of the work performed and the system’s status prior to service.

With the corroded valve replaced, the boiler system is now positioned for continued reliable operation. This type of preventive component replacement helps avoid unexpected failures and maintains system efficiency. The customer can expect improved performance and reduced risk of future valve-related issues.
