Emergency Call in Los Angeles

On June 23, 2026, our team responded to an emergency call in Los Angeles to address issues with the customer’s shower and tub assembly. Inspection revealed a single-handle shower valve with chrome-finished brass trim ring and escutcheon, paired with a shower head and tub spout with diverter. The system showed clear signs of age and hard water mineral buildup—the shower head interior displayed scaling on its spray mechanism, the brass tub spout showed corrosion and oxidation, and the valve trim ring bore water staining and discoloration. Moisture marks around the escutcheon and visible caulking gaps indicated potential water seepage issues.

Our technician disassembled the shower head to inspect the internal spray pattern mechanism and removed the escutcheon to expose the rough-in valve and white PVC supply piping in the wall cavity. This work allowed for a complete assessment of the valve assembly and identification of areas requiring attention. The exposed components revealed the extent of mineral deposits and corrosion affecting system performance.

The inspection confirmed that the shower and tub assembly required service intervention due to mineral scaling, brass corrosion, and moisture penetration around the trim. Our team documented the condition of all visible components—including the chrome fittings, PVC supply lines, and diverter mechanism—to establish a clear baseline for the work performed.
