Water Heater in Los Angeles

Our technician inspected a GE SmartWater tank-type water heater during a service visit in Los Angeles. The unit is equipped with flexible corrugated supply lines, metal flex connectors at the tank inlet and outlet, and a complete temperature/pressure relief valve assembly. The ductwork and venting system feature mesh support collars and flexible ducting throughout.

During the inspection, significant sediment and mineral buildup was observed at the vent connection junction and around the tank base. Corrosion and discoloration were evident on the ductwork and metal connectors, with debris accumulation suggesting potential combustion byproduct or mineral deposit issues. The tank exterior showed normal wear consistent with regular operational use.

Our team completed a full inspection of the water heater and vent system, documenting conditions with photographs and service documentation. The substantial debris accumulation at the vent connection was flagged as requiring professional attention regarding venting integrity and combustion safety. This finding indicates that follow-up maintenance or repairs may be necessary to ensure safe and efficient operation.

The inspection provided a clear picture of the unit’s current condition and identified areas where further service work could improve performance and safety. Detailed photographic documentation was retained for the customer’s records.
