Clogged Drain in Los Angeles
Our technician arrived to address a clogged drain affecting the bathroom sink. Inspection revealed a two-handle centerset faucet with chrome finish and a P-trap assembly constructed from black PVC piping positioned beneath the sink basin. The drain opening showed significant mineral deposits, corrosion, and debris accumulation that had restricted water flow.
The P-trap was removed and cleaned, with connection points repositioned to restore proper drainage configuration. The drain line itself contained substantial sediment and buildup that required clearing to re-establish flow. Fresh water from the faucet spout confirmed the system was functioning after work completion.
Beyond the immediate clog repair, our technician documented secondary issues affecting the under-sink area. Black mold and mildew had accumulated on the P-trap exterior, water staining was visible on cabinet surfaces, and caulking around the sink perimeter showed deterioration. These conditions indicate moisture management problems in the cabinet space that, if left unaddressed, will continue to promote mold growth and potential water damage.
The drain is now clear and operational. We recommend drain cleaning service on a regular schedule to prevent future buildup, and suggest improving ventilation or moisture control in the cabinet to address the mold and staining. Recaulking the sink perimeter will also help protect the cabinet from ongoing water exposure.
