Water Heater in West Hollywood

Our technician arrived at the West Hollywood property on June 4, 2026, to service the water heater system. The inspection revealed galvanized steel supply pipes throughout the installation, showing extensive age-related deterioration including heavy rust staining, green and white mineral buildup typical of hard water deposits, and surface corrosion across multiple sections. Copper pipe sections displayed the characteristic blue-green patina of oxidized copper, while PVC flexible conduit and drain lines were also present in the assembly.

The existing piping infrastructure included brass ball valves with isolation points, metal fittings and couplings, and a stainless steel band clamp visible on the upper pipe section. The concrete basement structure housed the system. Visual evidence indicated recent stabilization work, with a hose clamp installed on a corroded pipe section to address deterioration in the supply line network.

The mineral encrustation and corrosion patterns observed throughout the galvanized piping suggest the system has been in service for many years and has experienced significant hard water exposure. The white deposits visible on multiple connection points and pipe exteriors are consistent with calcium and mineral accumulation common in this region.

Work completed focused on stabilizing compromised sections and ensuring proper isolation capability at key valve points. The system was inspected for safety and functionality. Given the visible age and corrosion levels present, the homeowner should monitor the piping system closely for future maintenance needs.
